EY? IS IT EVER too BIG?

The common topic from yesterday's dinner to lunch today:

Marriage and Carat Talks

I cringe at the every thought that most frens of my age are all talking about Marriage. Not like its a bad thing. I feel happy for them. Even went with my colleague who was looking to buy a flat to get some brochures (really jus out of curiousity). But the thought of the responsibilities that comes with it? Puts me off abit.

First off, purchasing a home will leave you in debt for the longest time. Not to mention wedding preparations, typical chinese wedding dinners that might cost a bomb, wedding packages for photoshoots & gowns etc. I see money signs staring at me already. $_$

Recently, the spark emitting from my colleague's humongous diamond ring caught my eye. It looked oversized for her fingers, i thought. I asked if it's a Carat. She replied it was a 1.5 carat. Wow, i exclaimed and the contented smile on her face was priceless. But in my heart, i was thinking.. Wah, this guy siao ah?

The engagement ring should always be worn with pride and joy, bearing in mind the varrying expectations of the diamond size. As a rule of thumb, a fren of mine told me that she read from articles that the engagement ring should be 2-3 times the salary of the guy!!

Har seriously?? I was stunned that people even came up with such a logic to illustrate love.

But if its too small (again subjected to expectations), we may even ask "r we not worth it?" and then start whining that you know, marriage is a ONCE in a lifetime affair leh.

As you may not know already, i love diamonds. I think they are classy and evergreen, best comes with a cert for investment sake.

But my expectations? No comments. Haha

Most importantlY, im happy im not a guy!!!

And definitely no, the size of the diamond doesnt equate his love.

XOXO
